Employment/Internship Opportunities
The
Business, Economic, and Community Outreach Network (BEACON), an outreach
entity of the Perdue School of Business, is currently recruiting for
Summer and Fall 2005. BEACON provides opportunities for high-quality
hands-on learning experiences through part-time internships and research
positions. These can be used to fulfill an ABLE credit. BEACON seeks
the following qualifications:
Research Associates:
serve on faculty-mentored project teams conducting research and
analysis for clients. Interested applicants should have the
following qualifications:
*Excellent research skills
*Excellent written and oral
communication skills
*Excellent organizational
and time management
skills
*Self-directed and highly
motivated
*Proficient with at least
Microsoft Word and
Excel; higher-level
computer skills are
desirable.
*Team player

Technology Specialist: provides overall technical support to the BEACON
team. Responsibilities include the design, creation, and
maintenance of web pages, creation of web-based forms and databases,
document production support, trouble-shooting and general technical
support for the group. The Technology Specialist may also have
research and analysis duties as a member of one or more project
teams. In addition to the qualifications listed above, interested
applicants should have intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in the
following Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, Front Page, Access,
PowerPoint. Knowledge of other tools, e.g., Project, Photodraw,
Java, Flashmedia, Macromedia, Dream Weaver and Windows XP is
desirable.
